Hans Günter Winkler – the most successful show jumper in the world. Between 1956 and 1976, he won seven medals in six Olympics. The first detailed documentation about his private and sporting life.
He was German Champion five times, once European, twice world champion in show jumping athlete of the year, several times. His legendary ride a memorable two Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1956, where his wonder horse “Halla” correctly brought to end the course although Winkler could hold himself tedious in the saddle because of a Bänderrisses only thanks to strong painkillers. His mare to the finish carried him almost without command.
