1890. The Austrian Cenzi has a dream: she wants to be the first woman to climb Mount Ushba in Georgia. In 1903, she finally gets her big chance. The men of the so-called Caucasus Expedition reluctantly accept her at first—but as a woman, she is very popular, and as a feminist, very self-confident. When Schulze, the bravest mountaineer and secretly in love with Cenzi, falls into a crevasse out of competitive ambition, he endangers the entire group, seriously injures Cenzi’s brother, and hurts himself. Her brother Heinrich can no longer continue the ascent, but Schulze wants to go on despite his injuries. How will Cenzi decide in this situation?
